Carey Mulligan (2003) has scooped the coveted Best Actress award at the BAFTAs, for her debut lead role in An Education. She appeared overwhelmed, though delighted, by her win and paid tribute to the writer, Nick Hornby, for creating such a brilliant character. Her victory bodes well for the Oscar ceremony on 7 March, for which she is nominated also as Best Actress. We, of course, wish her all the best and congratulate her on her BAFTA prize.
